
SUMO Speaker Series: The SUMO Speaker Series continues this quarter on Wednesdays from 5:15 to 6:15 (note the time change), in room 380C (in the basement). Food is provided from Pizza Chicago. All talks will be accessible to freshmen in the 50-series. See the talk schedule here.
Save the date: The 2009 Stanford Math Tournament is very tentatively scheduled for February 28th, 2009. For more information, please visit the SMT page, or e-mail silasj at stanford dot edu. Invitations will be sent out, and online registration will open, when the date is finalized.
Possible new events for 2008-2009: SUMO Seminars, Stanford Integration Contest, fun-and-games days, Ultimate Frisbee challenge (undergrads vs. grads), The Game, and anything else you suggest. Contact us with ideas!
Finally, we'll be running a few events for Mathleague.org this year. Mathleague.org is a high school league in several regions that will be expanding into the Bay Area this year. More info is on their website. If you're interested in helping out at one of these events, stay tuned to the mailing list.
